(Patria) - During the past night, 13 people were preventively evacuated from the area of the Jablanica settlement Zlate, hamlets Begići and Sašići, due to the risk of flash floods and landslides.
"These are mostly elderly people, and among the evacuees there is also one child. They have been accommodated in the Jablanica sports center, which was prepared for reception during yesterday. They have been provided with food, water, and medicine," said Azra Babić, a member of the Jablanica Municipal Civil Protection Headquarters.
She added that the situation in the municipality is currently stable.
"It is raining and a strong wind is blowing, but we have no major difficulties. There has been minor overflowing of streams onto local roads and small landslides. The situation is currently under control and we hope that the weather conditions will not worsen," Babić said.
At the Jablanica Civil Protection Operations Center, they say that the power supply is regular in all populated places. Civil protection teams are in the field monitoring the situation.
We remind you that the Adriatic Sea Water Area Agency earlier issued a warning due to forecast heavy rainfall expected over the next three days in part of the TMT flood area (Tihaljina, Mlade, Trebižat) and the middle and lower Neretva with its tributaries.
The warning of the danger of flash floods and landslides applies to the municipalities and cities of Konjic, Jablanica, Mostar, Čapljina, Grude, Ljubuški, Široki Brijeg and Posušje.
