Friendship Festival begins in Goražde: Large audience enjoyed hits by Tony Cetinski

(Patria) - With the anthem and fireworks, the 26th International Friendship Festival Goražde 2023 was ceremonially opened last night.

The festival was opened by Mayor Ernest Imamović, who welcomed numerous guests to the city on the Drina River.

Before the opening ceremony itself, the first day of this year's Festival program began with games on the threshing floor and an educational-creative workshop called Happy Hands.

After that, the Summer Book Fair was opened. An exhibition titled Monuments of Cultural-Historical Heritage: Stećci and Nišani Ilijaš was also opened at the Homeland Museum.

The first day of the Festival also saw the start of the Children's Acting School workshop, and at the City Art Gallery, an exhibition of works created at the International Art Colony Colors of Friendship Goražde 2022 was opened.

As part of the Festival's ceremonial opening, performances were given by the Travnik Brass Orchestra, the Kiseljak Municipality Majorette Association "Kiseljačke mažoretkinje", the "Victory" Dance Academy, and participants of the children's Festival "What is Dreamed in Song" Emir Geca and Erma Hubanić.

A greeting on behalf of the youth of Goražde was delivered by the top students of the 2022/2023 school year, and Sara Kadrić, a member of the Amateur Theater Scene of the Center for Culture.

After the Mayor opened the Festival, a spectacular fireworks display followed, along with the raising of the flag and the Festival anthem, followed by a performance by the band Emir & Frozen Camels, who created a great atmosphere.

After them, Tony Cetinski performed, treating the audience to a concert that will surely remain in the memory of the many attendees.

Tonight's program features a night of sevdah and folk music, with a performance by Adnan Jakupović. However, in addition to the events on the main stage, the second day of the Festival will certainly be filled with numerous activities including workshops, fairs, poetry collection promotions, games on the threshing floor…
