In FBiH, a total of 549 measles cases

In the past three months, a total of 549 measles cases have been registered in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the Public Health Institute of FBiH. The sick are mostly unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated, reports the Patria News Agency.

- The largest proportion are individuals aged 15-19 years, with the age limit shifting towards younger (under 1 year old, editor's note) and older age groups. An epidemic outbreak of measles in FBiH was registered at the beginning of February in the municipality of Bugojno and spread to other municipalities in the Central Bosnia Canton, where 511 cases have been registered so far – say the Institute.

In the Canton of Sarajevo, the epidemic began at the end of March, and by the beginning of May, a total of 27 cases were registered. In the Zenica-Doboj Canton, an increased number of cases has been registered from the beginning of April to the beginning of May. A total of eight cases have been registered. In the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, a total of seven cases were registered by May 10, writes NAP.
