Clothing in the EU is of higher quality and cheaper than in BiH

Clothing sold in boutiques in Bosnia and Herzegovina is of lower quality than that sold in the EU, but it is inexplicably and significantly more expensive than clothing in the West.

An associate of the BH news agency Patria from Brussels visited several boutiques in the center of the EU capital and noticed that the prices of attractive brands differ greatly from the prices of the same brand that can be found in Sarajevo – prices in Brussels are lower than those in Sarajevo!

Clothing prices are also cheaper in other European capitals compared to Sarajevo. For example, in Barcelona, the prices of one brand are three times lower than the prices of the same brand in Sarajevo.

Another problem that BiH citizens encounter when buying clothes in the country is quality. The same brand has different standards for customers in the Western market and for those who come from other countries, including BiH.

The issue of selling the same brand of different quality was recently raised in the European Parliament. The EU Consumers' Association notes that lower-quality goods mainly come from Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Poland, where some of the world's largest companies have production facilities.

The EC does not deny that there are differences in the quality of products of the same brand, but they claim that this is automatically reflected in the price. However, this is not the case in BiH. Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina pay more for lower-quality goods, writes Patria.
