First bus powered by human waste and food waste starts running in England

A bus powered by human waste and food waste made its first journey in the UK today, reports The Independent, as carried by the Patria news agency.

The bus can carry 40 passengers.

Gas produced from sewage and food waste will now be used to power buses in public transport, which will not only reduce fossil fuel consumption but also greatly contribute to improving air quality in urban areas.

Experts note that this is a very high-quality and sustainable way of powering buses in public transport.

The first passengers to ride this bus, dubbed the bio-bus, will be tourists traveling from Bristol Airport in southwest England to the city of Bath, located 21 kilometres away, which is on the UNESCO list of protected monuments, reports NAP.
