31-year-old Croatian kidnapped in Egypt

On Wednesday (July 22), a 31-year-old Croatian citizen, T.S., was kidnapped in Cairo in the morning hours. According to unofficial information, he is a manager working for the French company General Geoscience (CGG), which has a base in Cairo.

That morning, on his way to work, the car he was travelling in was stopped, and the kidnappers first pulled out his driver, then got into the same car and drove off in an unknown direction, reports the Patria News Agency.

So far, there have been no ransom demands, nor is it known who the kidnappers are or why they abducted the Croatian citizen. The driver, an Egyptian citizen, is being questioned by the Egyptian police, and the French company he works for has informed the Croatian Embassy in Cairo of his abduction. 

The Embassy then forwarded the information to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, which immediately contacted the family of the abducted 31-year-old, who are in Croatia, and has been in constant contact with them ever since. This is also the first individual case of abduction of a Croatian citizen in any foreign country.
