Book "Climate Change - Everything That Is Kept Silent About" by Nermin Alihodžić to be promoted on April 19 at the BiH Armed Forces Hall

(Patria) - The book "Climate Change - Everything That Is Kept Silent About" by Nermin Alihodžić will be promoted on April 19 at 7 PM at the Hall of the Armed Forces of BiH.

The book is intended for a wider readership, and the author's intention was to bring the issue of the climate change phenomenon closer to as many people as possible and thus try to point out the main causes of the dangerous situation our blue planet is in today.

It specifically addresses the question of where the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina stands in all of this?

"The transition to renewable energy sources, as it should be globally, should and must be a development opportunity for this suffering society burdened by ethnic divisions. Because nothing heals the wounds in a post-conflict society more easily and comprehensively than quality development projects. The green transition is precisely our opportunity, which we must seize if we are wise, smart, and educated enough," states Alihodžić.

Academician Džemal Najetović's review states that the book is a direct contribution to the study of issues related to climate change.

"From a scientific and practical point of view, especially the way individual issues are addressed and the terminology used, the book is relevant, original, and not a compilation. In addition to those who have dealt with or are researching climate change, this book can also be useful to those who are interested in ecology and coexistence with nature for any reason. The content of the book serves to inform a wide range of readers about the issues related to climate change. By presenting certain content, the author stimulates reader curiosity by offering alternative solutions to the threats and challenges caused by climate change," emphasizes Najetović.

The book "Climate Change" by Dr. Sc. Nermin Alihodžić is the first comprehensive work in the BiH region that analyzes all aspects of the connection between ecological science and the survival of the human species on planet Earth. It rightly begins with a chapter on human rights, addressing the position of the responsible subject in the process of halting climate change. The concept of ecological justice, defined as "ethical action in the sphere of the environment, of central importance for equality at the social level," given all the transformations expected from humans in this process, becomes a central principle of human action in global efforts, which is understandable considering the bloody history of inequality among people, driven by greed and the cruel exploitative nature of the human race, states Sanja Mlađenović-Stević, an environmental journalist, in her review.

The book will be discussed by academician Mlađenović-Stević, Najetović, Sakib Jusić, and Husnija Sejdinović.

About the author

Nermin Alihodžić was born in Sarajevo in 1974. He is currently employed as a "project manager" at the company INFOCOMP, which is involved in the production of photovoltaic plants (solar power plants) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Until recently, he was the director of the company SOLARCENTAR ADRIA, based in Rijeka (Republic of Croatia), whose business is also in the renewable energy sector and is focused on the European Union market.

He is a member of the Management Board of the Solar Academy Foundation, which is a leading authority on renewable energy sources in BiH, the president of the Association for Renewable Energy Sources and Ecological Construction, and the Secretary of the Assembly of the Association for the Protection of Achievements of the Struggle for Bosnia and Herzegovina (Za tebe BiH).

He is the editor and technical secretary of the monograph "Sanjani in the Defensive-Liberation War 1991-1995." year.

He has published his works on renewable energy sources, climate change, and environmental protection in Croatia, Serbia, and Slovenia.

He writes on ecological law, environmental protection, climate change issues, renewable energy sources, global warming, ecological justice, fossil capital, and its consequences.

He actively follows the political scene in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He believes that Bosnia and Herzegovina still faces the challenge of building a modern, functional, contemporary legal state, where civil rights will be fully respected throughout its territory and where all elements of environmental protection must be considered.
