130 children started at the renovated kindergarten in Doboj this morning

The "Majke Jugovića" kindergarten in Doboj has been renovated after the May floods, and around 130 children filled its premises with laughter and noise this morning, the Delegation of the European Union to BiH announced, reports the BiH news agency Patria. The kindergarten director, Slavica Živković, said that the renovated kindergarten started operating this morning.

- Thanks to the financial resources of the European Union's Flood Recovery Programme, we started operating in the renovated kindergarten premises this morning - she said.
 
The renovation of the kindergarten building was completed seven days ahead of schedule. The completion of works on the second kindergarten in Doboj, which is also being renovated with European Union funds, is expected on October 1, 2014. The value of the European Union's investment in the renovation of kindergarten buildings in Doboj amounts to 600,000 KM. Ambassador Peter Sorensen, Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative, said they are delighted that the kindergarten has started operating.
   
- This is a key step towards re-establishing one of the essential services for the citizens of Doboj, contributing to the normalization of life in the flooded areas, which is the primary goal of the European Union's recovery assistance program - Sorensen stated.
