Montenegrin patriotic organizations to hold rally tonight

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A civic and patriotic rally, for, as the organizers stated, the defense of an independent civic Montenegro, will be held tonight at Independence Square in Podgorica.

A group of Montenegrin patriotic organizations has called on the citizens of Montenegro to attend the rally, stating that freedom is the cheapest word in Montenegro these days.

“Freedom that has taken us back to the nineties, freedom in outbursts of national and religious hatred, freedom of threats to those who do not march in the orthodox ranks! Freedom in which those who wave the flag of Montenegro have become targets for elimination,” the statement reads.

These organizations stated that they cannot turn a blind eye and remain silent in the face of the awakening of clerical fascism and threats “to the survival of the only country we have.”

They stated that they are not united by any party, religion, or nation, “but by the need to raise our voice in defense of our only true sanctuary – independent, civic, secular, multicultural, and anti-fascist Montenegro.”

These organizations stated that a group of former sovereigntists “under the control of alienated and embittered tycoons will democratize the state in coalition with Chetnik dukes, promoters of clerical fascism, and avowed haters of Montenegro.”

“Look how many of us are left who have remained loyal to Montenegro and listen to the messages of our love and devotion to our only sanctuary,” they state in the announcement.
