On Thursday, the formation of government in the Federation of BiH will be unblocked

On Thursday, February 5, a session of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of FBiH will be held, where the president and vice-presidents of the Federation of BiH should be elected, which will unblock the process of establishing the government, writes the Patria News Agency. 

Marinko Čavara (HDZBIH) has been proposed for president, and Melika Mahmutbegović (SDA) and Milan Dunović (DF) for vice-presidents. 

After the appointment of the heads of the executive power, the appointment of the mandate holder for the Government of the Federation of BiH, Fadil Novalić (SDA), can proceed. 

Inter-party negotiations between SDA, HDZ BIH, and DF regarding the distribution of ministerial positions are underway. For reminder, DF is seeking four ministries (three for Serbs, one from the Others category), HDZBiH six (five for Croats and one for Serbs), which could cause a delay in the formation of the Government, because according to the election results, HDZ is entitled to all five Croatian seats, which Željko Komšić renounced from the start.

However, Čović, due to his debt to Milorad Dodik, is also insisting on the sixth, Serbian seat.
