The Public Institution General Library Maglaj will mark its day on March 12, and a ceremonial program has been prepared, writes the BH News Agency Patria.
The ceremony will be held on Thursday with the following program:
- Reception of guests at 11:30 AM
- Laying flowers in the Lily Park at 11:50 AM
- Ceremony marking Library Day at 12:00 PM
- Film about the reconstruction of the Library's building and book collection
- Exhibition display from the Special Collection of Old and Rare Books
We remind you that last year, during the May floods, this library, the only one in the municipality of Maglaj, suffered great damage, and 28,000 out of 40,000 books it had were destroyed. The library reopened its doors to users on August 20, 2014. Through numerous campaigns by citizens, institutions, schools, and fairs, more than 30,000 books were collected, so they now have a collection of 50,000 books.
As the director of the General Library Maglaj, Nina Salkić Bunjevac, told Patria, they will also show a 15-minute film that day and present everything that the library employees have done so far and what still needs to be completed.
- I am happy when I see the result, when people come and say it looks nice. Citizens, media, and guests who visited the library helped us a lot – said Salkić - Bunjevac, adding that they also present their activities on local television Maglaj.
However, the good news is that donations are still arriving. The latest donation of 1,000 books of various genres was presented to the Maglaj library by the Cultural Association of Bosniaks of Croatia "Preporod", and the donation was handed over on March 8 by member of the Main Board Ismet Isaković.
