(Patria) - A body of a person who had been reported missing in the catastrophic floods that hit the area on the night of October 3rd to 4th has been found in Buturović Polje near Konjic.
On the fourth day after the catastrophic floods that struck parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, rescuers are still searching for, according to official information so far, eight people who are listed as missing in Jablanica and Konjic.
Due to the natural disaster that hit parts of BiH, aid is arriving from all sides, after the Ministry of Security of BiH, through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, submitted a request for international assistance in dealing with the floods in BiH.
Rescuers and other competent institutions, as well as the Armed Forces, are still on the ground, especially in Donja Jablanica, where the highest number of victims has been reported. The torrent of water and a stone avalanche from the quarry razed houses in Donja Jablanica.
All surviving residents have been evacuated, and heavy machinery is on the ground removing stones and other debris.
A three-day mourning period has been declared in the Jablanica area from Saturday to Tuesday, while the Council of Ministers of BiH has not yet made a decision on declaring a Day of Mourning in BiH for all the victims of the floods that affected Herzegovina and the Central Bosnia Canton.
