NATO PARP Assessment for BiH 2022 Adopted in Brussels

(Patria) - A delegation of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Assistant Minister of Defence for International Cooperation Zoran Šajinović, participated in a working meeting on the topic “Planning and Review Process (PARP) Assessment BiH – 2022”, held on November 10, 2023, at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

The purpose of the working meeting was to assess Bosnia and Herzegovina's PARP process for the past period through multinational consultations of representatives of NATO member states, invited partner countries, and BiH. The assessment also presents the current status of plan implementation and BiH's progress regarding defence reform, transformation of the BiH Armed Forces, training, exercises, and operations in which members of the BiH Armed Forces participated.

The ultimate goal of the meeting was the adoption of the text of the document, which in its final version will be sent for approval to the ambassadors – permanent representatives of NATO member countries.

The BiH delegation thanked NATO member states for their unconditional support and cooperation in the past period and conveyed information on the status of implementation of accepted commitments, as well as progress and implementation of the NATO partnership.

At the end of the presentation, it was concluded that BiH is ready and determined to continue the implementation of all initiated activities and undertaken commitments, with gratitude for the selfless support, both to partner countries and to the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo and EUFOR, regarding the implementation of partnership goals, development of OCC E&F capabilities, support in the Defence Capacity Building (DCB) program, training of BiH Armed Forces members, and the overall integration process.

Representatives of NATO member states and partner countries emphasized the very good cooperation with BiH, recognized BiH's progress in implementing partnership goals, and supported and encouraged BiH in continuing defence reform. The meeting concluded with the unanimous adoption of the proposed text for the adoption of the document “PARP BiH 2022 Assessment”.
