Grand ceremony for 3,633 graduates and master's degree holders at BKC: Among them 195 recipients of special UNSA awards

(Patria) - The grand ceremony for graduates and master's degree holders of the University of Sarajevo will be held today starting at 12:00 PM at the Bosnian Cultural Center (BKC).

At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, Rector of the University of Sarajevo, vice-rectors of the University of Sarajevo, and deans of faculties and academies will promote 3,633 graduates and master's degree holders of the University of Sarajevo.

During the ceremony, 195 recipients of special awards from the University of Sarajevo will be presented: the Golden Badge of the University of Sarajevo, the Silver Badge of the University of Sarajevo, and the Charter of the University of Sarajevo, as well as the best students of the first and second cycles of study and integrated studies in 2024.

According to the ceremony program, an address is planned by Mr. Nihad Uk, Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, and by University of Sarajevo alumnus Dino Mustafić, director of the National Theatre in Sarajevo and professor at the Academy of Performing Arts of the University of Sarajevo.

As part of the musical program, the academic anthem "Gaudeamus" will be performed by baritone Tomislav Perić, a fifth-year student of the Solo Singing Department of the Academy of Music of the University of Sarajevo, in the class of Professor Adema Pljevljak Krehić, accompanied by fifth-year student Zerina Šabotić of the Piano, Percussion, Harp and Related Instruments Department, in the class of Professor Mr. Dragan Opančić.

We will also hear a piece by Jovana Pavlović, a third-year student of the Solo Singing Department of the Academy of Music of the University of Sarajevo, in the class of Professor Vedrana Šimić, who will perform Marguerite's aria from the opera Faust, accompanied by Zerina Šabotić. The duet from W. A. Mozart's opera The Marriage of Figaro will be performed by fifth-year students of the Solo Singing Department of the Academy of Music, Idna Muminović and Tomislav Perić, both recipients of silver badges for the first cycle of study, in the class of Professor Adema Pljevljak Krehić, and accompanied by Zerina Šabotić.

The "Fourth Movement" of the composition "History of the Tango" by composer Astor Piazzolla will be performed by Vozdra Sax Quartet, a saxophone quartet, alumni of the Academy of Music of the University of Sarajevo. Two saxophonists from this quartet are recipients of silver and gold badges – Rijad Šarić and Mirza Sijerčić.

Diploma award ceremonies will be organized at the faculties and academies of the University of Sarajevo.
