Regional protest against lithium exploitation on Majevica held in Bijeljina

(Patria) - A regional protest rally against the exploitation of lithium and other critical mineral resources on Majevica is being held in Bijeljina.

Organizers have called on all citizens of Semberija to unite and clearly express their opposition to mining projects which, as they state, pose a threat to human health, agriculture, and the future of life in this region.

"A real danger of irreversible environmental pollution looms over our Semberija and Majevica due to the greedy desire of mining companies to open a lithium mine on Majevica. If these intentions were realized, our air, our water, and our land would quickly become poisoned. All those who agree to have their cities and villages polluted are accomplices in this environmental crime, together with those who planned it," the organizers stated.
