12,396 migrants entered BiH, most from Pakistan

 

SARAJEVO; (Patria) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina took note of the Information on the situation in the field of migration in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the increased influx of migrants into BiH, proposed by the Ministry of Security.

On the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from January 1, 2018 to September 2, 2018, 12,396 illegal migrants were reported to the Service for Foreigners' Affairs. In the same period, 11,491 persons expressed their intention to submit an asylum application in BiH, while 1,097 submitted an asylum application. 

The largest number of migrants come from Pakistan (4,184), Syria (1,840), Iran (1,694),  Afghanistan (1,246) and Iraq (1,038).
