In BiH, 548,612 people unemployed at the end of August, more than 50% are women

An increase in the number of unemployed was also recorded during August, so on the last day in BiH, a total of 552,319 unemployed persons were registered, of which 394,168 in FBiH, while in RS there were 145,984, and in Brčko District 12,167, announced the Employment Service of BiH, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Compared to July, when 548,612 unemployed persons were registered, the number of unemployed persons in RS slightly decreased by less than 1000 persons.

Of the total number of persons seeking employment, 282,509 or 51.15% are women. Incidentally, recent examples from the state-owned company "Grijanje Zenica" indicate what women are facing and that they are in an unequal position with men. We remind you that two employees were fired due to pregnancy.

On the other hand, frequent questions from employers during interviews with female candidates relate to marital status, number of children, and most importantly, whether they plan to become pregnant in the coming years.

Such an attitude of employers in the private sector, but increasingly also in the public sector, violates basic human rights, but also shows a distorted system in BiH against which there is still no effective way to fight.
