394 New Cases of COVID-19 in BiH, 11 Fatalities

(Patria) - According to data from the Federal Institute of Public Health, in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, results of testing 1,709 samples have been reported in the past 24 hours, of which 297 are positive for COVID-19. New cases have been registered in all cantons in the Federation of BiH.

A total of 141,531 samples have been tested in the Federation of BiH so far, and COVID-19 has been confirmed in 15,790 people. As of today, 11,512 patients have recovered in the Federation of BiH, and the recovery of 171 patients has been recorded in the past 24 hours. Currently, there are 3,835 active cases/positive for COVID-19.

In the past 24 hours, eight deaths have been reported to the Federal Institute of Public Health. Six patients died in the past 24 hours, and two patients whose data were entered into the database later died at the beginning of the week. As of today, the total number of deaths in the Federation of BiH is 443, of which 292 are men and 151 are women.

"We appeal to avoid large gatherings, especially in closed spaces, and to limit celebrations to a close circle of family and friends while respecting all hygienic-epidemiological measures. We are living with the virus present in the community, and it is important to maintain a low level of transmission through individual responsibility and adherence to measures and behavior in the context of COVID-19," stated the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health.

The population in the Federation of BiH is recommended to avoid public gatherings and limit their movements due to the COVID-19 epidemiological situation. In case of symptoms such as fever, cough, loss of smell or taste, people with symptoms, as well as their household members, are advised to stay home and contact their doctor by phone for further instructions.

It is necessary to adhere to personal protection measures, maintain a distance of two meters and avoid shaking hands and hugging, wear masks in indoor public spaces while maintaining a distance of two meters, and outdoors if a distance of two meters cannot be maintained, frequent and thorough hand washing, maintaining personal hygiene and hygiene of the premises, as well as for employers and employees to adhere to preventive measures in the workplace.

From the last report on the epidemiological situation in the Republic of Srpska, in the last 24 hours, 640 laboratory samples were tested at the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Srpska, the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska, the University Hospital in Foča, and the hospitals of St. Vračevi in Bijeljina and St. Apostle Luka in Doboj, and the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has been confirmed in 97 people in the Republic of Srpska.

These are 48 males and 49 females, of whom 23 are younger, 57 middle-aged, and 17 elderly.

By place of residence, 27 people are from Banja Luka, 10 from Mrkonjić Grad, seven from Prnjavor, six from Gradiška, five from Laktaši, four each from Bijeljina, Doboj, Istočna Ilidža, and Čelinac, three each from Prijedor and Sokolac, two each from Bileća, Kozarska Dubica, Teslić, and Foča, and one each from Brod, Zvornik, Kneževo, Lopare, Modriča, Oštra Luka, Rudo, Srbac, Stanari, Trebinje, Šamac, and Šipovo.

In the last 24 hours, three deaths have been reported to the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Srpska in which the presence of the new coronavirus has been confirmed. These are middle-aged and elderly men from Doboj (two people) and Gradiška.

So far, 8,511 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the Republic of Srpska, and a total of 284 people have died who tested positive for the new coronavirus. A total of 5,431 people have recovered from the new coronavirus so far, and a total of 72,994 people have been tested.

The total number of hospitalized patients in the Republic of Srpska is 184, with 63 at the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska and 121 in general hospitals.

In the Republic of Srpska, 3,398 people are currently under health supervision, and supervision has been completed for 55,136 people.
