Arnaudija Mosque in Banja Luka Vandalised

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - Entity Vice President Ramiz Salkić stated that the writing of offensive graffiti on the walls of the Banja Luka Arnaudija Mosque, which is under reconstruction, represents a continuation of constant pressure on Bosniak Muslims in the area of that BiH entity.

He said he expects the competent authorities to finally start arresting and prosecuting the perpetrators of such misdeeds and to inform the public of those results. 

"We Bosniak Muslims in this entity are at our hearths and we are here to live in peace together with our Orthodox and Catholic neighbours. We expect this to be understood in the right way, and not for our mosques to be drawn on with offensive graffiti, for our call to prayer to be called derogatory names, and for our imams and our people to be threatened and attacked," said Salkić.
On the religious building under construction, the Banja Luka Arnaudija Mosque, an as yet unknown person wrote the four letters "S" and drew a swastika.

The police are investigating this act of vandalism.

Columnist and writer from Banja Luka Dragan Bursać wrote on Twitter that the Banja Luka Arnaudija Mosque, which was destroyed in the war, had been vandalised. „The perpetrators, it seems, are signing themselves with their favourite symbols,“ said Bursać.
