In 12 Cities and Municipalities, There Will Be Only One Candidate in the October Local Elections

(Patria) - The October elections for mayors will be a mere formality in 12 municipalities and cities in BiH because the candidates have already won - the reason is that they have no opponents.

Most of them are in the federal part of Herzegovina, and most are from Dragan Čović's HDZ BiH, writes RTV BN.

In RS, this is the situation in three local communities - Laktaši, Trnovo, and Istočno Novo Sarajevo.

According to the preliminary, certified list of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH, the only candidate for mayor of Laktaši will be the current mayor Miroslav Bojić from SNSD.

In other RS communities, his party colleagues will be fighting "against themselves" - Jovan Katić in Istočno Novo Sarajevo and Miroslav Bjelica in Trnovo.

In Teočak, the only candidate for mayor is Tajib Muminović (SDA), in Olovo Đemal Memagić (SDA), in Bužim Mersudin Nanić (SDA), and in Kupres Danko Jurič (HDZ BiH).

From HDZ are also the candidates for mayor of Kreševo Boris Marić, Posušje Ante Begić, Ljubuški Vedran Markotić, as well as the candidate for mayor of Neum Dragan Jurković.

From Čović's party is also the candidate for the head of the municipality of Ravno Andrija Šimunović.
