Bašić (NIP) tweet: Baralija will not be mayor, but could become president

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - It is now certain that Irma Baralija (Naša stranka), most responsible for the elections in Mostar after 12 years, will not be mayor of the city on the Neretva. 

In the political games of HDZ and the Coalition for Mostar led by SDA, which also includes SBB, DF, Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina and BPS, Baralija did not get the deserved opportunity to lead the city to which she restored democracy. 

This prompted Haris Bašić, a member of the People and Justice party, to post an interesting message on Twitter: "They didn't let Irma become mayor. Because of that, she could easily become president. He who laughs last...", Bašić said. 

The general elections are far away, but this reflection caused a reaction on Twitter, so the post was "liked" by NIP president Elmedin Konaković and the mayor of Sarajevo's Centar municipality, Srđan Mandić.

Whether this means that NIP could support Baralija and that the Bosnian bloc with People and Justice could have Baralija as a joint candidate for the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we do not know, but a joint candidate of these parties would certainly be a significantly stronger contender in this political struggle.
