Tuzla Cantonal Court Refuses Recognition of Verdict Against Salko Zildžić from Serbia

(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Tuzla has refused the request from the Higher Court in Užice (Republic of Serbia) to recognize and execute a verdict by which Salko Zildžić was sentenced to one year in prison under electronic surveillance.

The request was submitted on January 30, 2025, by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia - Sector for International Cooperation and Strategic Planning, and it concerned the verdict of the Higher Court in Užice, number SPK 19/23, by which Zildžić was found guilty of the criminal offense of illegal production, possession, carrying, and trafficking of weapons, and was sentenced to one year in prison with electronic surveillance measures at his place of residence.

The verdict became final on September 25, 2023, and enforceable on January 10, 2024.

After reviewing the request, the Cantonal Court in Tuzla issued a decision on February 28, 2025, rejecting it as unenforceable.

This decision became final on March 17, 2025, and was sent to the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further action and forwarding to the competent court in the Republic of Serbia.
