TUZLA, (Patria) - Around 800 doctors from the Tuzla Canton area will today initiate the procedure for handing in resignations in public health institutions, after last week unsuccessfully concluding negotiations with the Government of Tuzla Canton (TK).
Although representatives of the cantonal authorities announced the signing of a collective agreement with the Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of TK, this did not happen because they were not recognized as representative, which was the union's basic demand.
Tuzla Canton could thus enter the biggest crisis of the health system so far, and the consequences could be catastrophic, especially for end users of health services.
