Tuzla, a City for All of Us: SDP Candidates Presented for Upcoming Elections

With a promotional gathering in the packed hall of the Bosnian Cultural Center, the Tuzla City Board of the SDP officially launched its campaign for the upcoming local elections. From this gathering, a message was once again sent that Tuzla remains a bastion of the SDP and that Tuzla will continue to be a city for all of us, reports the Patria agency.

At the gathering, the SDP candidates for the Tuzla City Council were presented, along with the SDP candidate for Mayor of Tuzla, Jasmin Imamović, as well as the election program of the City Organization.

- SDA, SBB and HDZ have never done anything good for Tuzla. With various lies, they try to minimize everything that the SDP has done for this city. That is why we, in the SDP, have opted for a positive campaign, but we are also analyzing the already initiated elements of the dirty campaign of some individuals and some parties, because the truth is on our side - said Slađan Ilić, president of the SDP Tuzla City Board at the gathering.

The SDP list holder for the City Council, Dr. Aleksandar Vujadinović, emphasized in his speech that he always proudly says he comes from Tuzla.

- I am very proud to be on the list of SDP candidates, together with these wonderful people, who represent the essence of Tuzla. That is why I am sure that in the elections, together with our mayor Jasmin Imamović, we will succeed in defending our Tuzla and making it even better - said Vujadinović.

The president of the SDP BiH Cantonal Board Tuzla, Enver Bijedić, told those present that the empty promises of 100,000 promised jobs must not be forgotten.

- They must answer to the people what happened with the promised investments, what happened with the construction of the highway? The SDP government built 60 kilometers of highway, and they, in two years, not a single meter. What about the tunnel that connects us with Sarajevo, via Karaula? We started it, they can't even finish it and they won't explain when it will be done! - said Bijedić.

The SDP candidate for Mayor of Tuzla, Jasmin Imamović, said in his speech that BiH can only be integrated through anti-fascism.

- The SDP is the only true guardian of the idea of anti-fascism. Whoever attacks the fundamental ideas of anti-fascism, destroys BiH. We, in the SDP, will defend Tuzla and BiH with anti-fascism. Not only with those fundamental values, but we will also defend it by making it even stronger. We plan to open, in the next four years, at least 4,000 new jobs. Our goal is 70 percent employment in Tuzla. That is our primary mission - emphasized Imamović.

The gathering in Tuzla was concluded with a speech by the president of the SDP BiH, Nermin Nikšić, who stated that the SDP will send messages of peace and coexistence and messages of equality for all citizens in all parts of BiH during these elections.

- Tonight you heard messages from people who have no doubt that a unified and integral BiH is above every interest, including the interest of the SDP. You heard people who are not afraid to say that Tuzla is above any party or personal interest. That is why I thank them for managing to preserve the multi-ethnic and red Tuzla. That is why Tuzla is a thorn in their side and why they say at every step that it will no longer be red. Well, they miscalculated a bit in that - concluded Nikšić.
