Tuzla to host International Congress of Students and Young Doctors of Medicine

Months of preparations for the International Congress of Students and Young Doctors of (Bio)Medicine "MediCon 2015", to be held in Tuzla from October 30 to November 1, 2015, are nearing completion. So far, 250 students and young doctors from 17 countries have registered to participate in the congress, writes the Patria News Agency.

The project of the Association of Students of the Faculty of Medicine in Tuzla "MEDICUS", which will gather medical students from various parts of the world at a scientific gathering in Tuzla after more than two decades, has attracted great attention among future experts in the field of medicine.

 "MediCon 2015" is a project launched with the aim of providing students and young doctors with an opportunity to try their hand at writing and presenting scientific and research papers. In addition to acquiring competencies and knowledge related to their (bio)medical research field, students and young doctors will have the opportunity to exchange contacts and build friendships with many prominent experts and colleagues.

All six medical faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina from Sarajevo, East Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka, and Tuzla will also be part of "MediCon 2015" through their participation in the congress programs.

Emir Bećirović, president of the "MediCon" Organizing Committee, said that he was pleasantly surprised by the great interest of the participants who announced their arrival at the conference.

- We will have more than five plenary speakers, six full student sessions, three workshops, and numerous activities that will be presented over three days at the Faculty of Medicine in Tuzla. We also promise good socializing and believe that all participants will primarily take away good experiences from our city, university, and faculty - stated Bećirović.

Until the beginning of the congress, the Organizing Committee is working on creating a book of abstracts and on preparing the third issue of the magazine "PULSUS", which will be presented at the opening of the congress.

Students and young doctors who actively participate in the congress will compete for the best oral presentation and the best poster, and the organizers will reward those deemed best by the Scientific Committee.

The patron of the congress is the University of Tuzla, and the project is supported by the Medical Chamber of Tuzla Canton, the University Clinical Center Tuzla, the Public Health Institute of Tuzla Canton, the Student Union of the University of Tuzla, and other friends of the event.

The professional part of the "MediCon 2015" gathering will be held at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tuzla.
