Prosecutor Glušac: We already have a witness who was pressured

At a five-hour hearing to determine one-month detention for nine people arrested in the SIPA and Prosecutor's Office operation codenamed "Gibraltar", the presiding prosecutor Dragica Glušac, reading the submission she presented to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated that the nine arrested individuals damaged the BiH budget by more than eight million KM, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

We remind you, the investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH was launched against nine suspects for organized crime, namely Neven Kulenović, Belma Kulenović, Sanjin Kulenović, Lajla Torlak, Darko Aleksić, Ejub Kučuk, Senad Zaimović, Stipe Prlić, and Zoran Bakula.

The defense of the suspects pointed out that apart from police reports, which are not evidence, no evidence was presented to the defense. On the other hand, prosecutor Glušac requested from the Court of BiH that in this part of the proceedings, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, citing Article 47 of the Criminal Procedure Code, will not present evidence to the defense.

However, the preliminary proceedings judge Minka Kreho warned the prosecutor three times during her presentation that evidence had not even been presented to the Court of BiH.

Furthermore, the defense of the suspects claims that their clients were illegally deprived of their liberty, because last night at 9:45 PM, the 24-hour deadline by which the Prosecutor's Office of BiH had to submit a request for detention measures expired.

In her presentation, prosecutor Glušac, presenting special reasons for ordering detention measures, said that this morning a witness came forward to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH claiming that he had already received threats and pressure not to testify about what he knows.

Also, as special reasons, Glušac cited the fact that some suspects have dual citizenship, and that all have good connections and business ties abroad, which would provide them with an opportunity to flee.

Incidentally, the Court of BiH should make its decision in the morning, no later than 9:30 AM.
