Criminal complaint filed against Konaković with BiH Prosecutor's Office and SIPA: Disclosing classified information, conducting own investigations

(Patria) - The BiH Prosecutor's Office and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) have received a criminal complaint against Elmedin Konaković, BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the People and Justice party, for several criminal offenses under the Criminal Code of BiH and the Law on Protection of Classified Information.

The complaint states that Konaković publicly claimed that structures associated with the BIA (Serbian Security Information Agency) are behind the attacks on the Office of the High Representative and the Constitutional Court, and that these structures are within BiH institutions and operate on the BIA's orders.

"These days, we are very seriously analyzing to see who this infiltrated element is, who is the spy who presented himself as a protector of BiH interests, and at the same time, along with Dodik, is undermining both the Constitutional Court and the OHR. He presents himself as a member of the pro-Bosnian bloc, but works in Serbia's interest. There are several old KOS (Counterintelligence Service) members who are still from that system and are using the benefits of us never fully settling accounts with them, of not removing them from the system, of them influencing decision-making by SDA president Bakir Izetbegović, and Željko Komšić," Konaković said, among other things.

The criminal complaint states that Konaković admitted that he "knowingly aids in the commission of several criminal offenses, and also commits criminal offenses under the Criminal Code of BiH, namely: disclosure of classified information, failure to report a criminal offense or perpetrator, aiding a perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense, intentional aiding in the commission of a criminal offense, unlawful formation and joining of foreign paramilitary or paramilitary formations, espionage.
It is noted that Konaković does not have access to classified information of all levels.

"What Konaković stated in public represents the highest level of classified information and falls under 'classified' of the highest degree of secrecy, to which Konaković has no access on any grounds, and he could have obtained this information only and exclusively through illegal means," it is stated.

It is emphasized that Konaković is conducting his own investigation, supporting this with the statement "when I gather more additional information".

"Investigations and information gathering can only be carried out by authorized officials, prosecutors, and police officers, not by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the president of a political party," the complaint states, requesting urgent action from SIPA and the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
