HNK Prosecutor's Office: We are determining all circumstances of the tragedy in Jablanica and Konjic, and investigating the operations of the quarry

(Patria) - The HNK Mostar Prosecutor's Office, Konjic Regional Prosecutor's Office, has issued a statement regarding the tragedy that occurred in the areas of Jablanica and Konjic, in which residents of Donja Jablanica, Buturović Polje, and Konjic lost their lives.

"Regarding the tragedy that occurred, and for the objective informing of the public, as well as numerous media inquiries, we inform the public that prosecutors from the HNK/K Mostar Prosecutor's Office, Konjic Regional Prosecutor's Office, immediately upon notification of the terrible tragedy that occurred in the municipalities of Jablanica and Konjic, went to the scene, and together with members of the MUP of HNK/K and PU Konjic, i.e., PS Konjic and PS Jablanica, undertook and are undertaking all necessary actions within their jurisdiction that cannot be delayed.

For these reasons, a case has been formed in the Prosecutor's Office, and a team of prosecutors has been appointed to work on this case, and members of the MUP of HNK/K, under the supervision of the HNK/K Prosecutor's Office, are undertaking actions to verify allegations and information with the aim of determining all circumstances under which this tragedy occurred, with a special emphasis on the potential responsibility and role of the human factor, especially in relation to the operations and activities of the quarry located in the affected area.

Also, for this purpose, certain expert examinations have been ordered, as well as the procurement of certain business documentation," the HNK Prosecutor's Office announced.
