Prosecutor's Office of BiH seeks custody for Vinko Radović and Petko Panić, suspected of persecution and crimes against thousands of Bosniaks

(Patria) - Following the order of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, SIPA police officers, in the area of border crossings Zvornik and Karakaj, took over from the BiH Border Police the suspects Radović Vinko, born in 1959 in Zvornik, a citizen of BiH, and Panić Petko, born in 1952 in Zvornik, a citizen of BiH.

The suspects will be transported to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH within the legal deadline, where they will be handed over to the acting prosecutor. These suspects are accused that, suspect Radović, as a representative of the former civilian and military authorities in Zvornik, and suspect Panić, as the deputy commander of the police in Zvornik, in the spring of 1992, participated in the systematic persecution of several thousand civilians of Bosniak nationality from the village of Đulići, Klisa, and surrounding areas, as well as the unlawful separation, abuse, and detention of about 700 men and boys aged between 16-70, during which the murders of several individuals also occurred, who were taken to unlawful detention in the Technical School Center in Karakaj.

During the persecution of the population, civilians were robbed, money and valuables were stolen, tractors, vehicles, and other property were seized, after which the remaining population was sent to the territory controlled by the Army of RBiH in Kalesija.

The suspects are charged with the criminal offense of Crimes Against Humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of BiH. After questioning the suspects, the acting prosecutor will submit a motion to the Court of BiH to determine the measure of custody, due to the risk of the suspects fleeing and the danger that they might obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence, and influence witnesses or accomplices if they remain at liberty.
