Prosecutor's Office of BiH files indictment against Miodrag Malić for glorifying convicted war criminals

(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of BiH has filed an indictment against Miodrag Malić for glorifying convicted war criminals during protests in Banja Luka.

The Prosecutor's Office accuses Malić of appearing on stage with photos of individuals finally convicted by the Hague Tribunal during protests by political parties in Banja Luka.

By doing so, it is stated, he glorified individuals finally convicted by the International Criminal Court and caused distress to citizens living in Banja Luka and BiH, thereby committing the criminal offense of "inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, discord, and intolerance".

Several cases are currently being prosecuted in the Court of BiH for this criminal offense.

In July of this year, the Court convicted Samir Nukić in the first instance to a suspended sentence of three months for inciting national hatred due to comments he posted on Facebook about Croatian children who died in Vitez.

He was sentenced to three months in prison, which will not be executed if he does not commit a new criminal offense within the next three years. Appeals have been filed against this verdict.

The Prosecutor's Office has filed two indictments against Vojin Pavlović, which have been consolidated into one case and are currently being tried.

The first indictment was filed in January for glorifying a convicted war criminal, while the April indictment charges Pavlović with approving the commission of genocide in Srebrenica.

The indictment against Malić has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
