Prosecutor's Office of BiH Indicts Mehmedagić for Fake Diploma from American University: Obtained Financial Gain of Nearly 300,000 KM

(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of BiH has filed an indictment against Mehmedagić Osman, born in 1962 in Sarajevo, former director of OSA BiH.

The suspect is charged with, in the period from November 2019 until his dismissal from the position of general director of OSA BiH, performing this function even though he did not possess the higher education degree required by law as a condition for holding this position. The suspect, in order to enable himself to remain in this position, among other things, presented to the competent body for supervision over the work of OSA BiH of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH a diploma from the American University in BiH for the degree of Bachelor of International Law, although he knew that he had never studied at this faculty nor obtained any degree from this faculty, and that he obtained this diploma in an unknown manner.

In this way, the suspect damaged the reputation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also obtained financial gain to which he had no right in the total amount of 293,046.58 KM, for which amount he damaged the budget of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the indictment proposes the confiscation of illegal property gain.

The suspect is charged with the criminal offense of Abuse of Position or Authority under Article 220, Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
