Turković: US and EU sanctions for individuals and entities in BiH in the afternoon hours

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković confirmed that sanctions for individuals from BiH should be announced already today in the afternoon hours, but she believes that those behind the sanctions should clarify the details and list the entities to which they will apply.

"It has been worked on for a long time, I think there is a coordinated position between the United States of America and the European Union, but this is not the end but the beginning of imposing sanctions.

Since the end of July, the work of state institutions has been blocked, neither the budget for 2021 nor for 2022 has been adopted, many agreements are on hold.

The RS authorities led by Milorad Dodik and the SNSD are demanding the withdrawal of the imposed amendments to the Criminal Law which prohibit the denial of genocide and glorification of war criminals, and the return of forests and land to the ownership of the entity, not the state, which means annulling the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

For months, there has been talk of sanctions for individuals in BiH, but also for companies that finance political parties and their activities aimed at undermining the Dayton Peace Agreement.

These are sanctions for organized crime and corruption, which, they noted, undermine the rule of law.
