Turković and Darmanović: Horrified by mentioning Pljevlja in the context of the Srebrenica genocide

(Patria) - Bisera Turković, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, spoke today by phone with Srđan Darmanović, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro. During the conversation, Minister Darmanović informed Minister Turković about the current situation in Montenegro, following the parliamentary elections held in this country.
Minister Turković expressed concern for the situation in this country, especially in Pljevlja, where incidents, provocations, and attacks have been recorded, and asked for additional efforts to be made to protect citizens' rights and their property.

"We are horrified by mentioning Pljevlja in the context of the Srebrenica genocide. We condemn such rhetoric, which is backward, uncivilized, and has no place in the 21st century. We ask for people to be protected, because no one can be attacked because of their national and political affiliation. I believe that the security of the entire region can be seriously threatened by such phenomena. Too much energy and time has been invested in previous decades to tolerate radical nationalist moves that threaten to jeopardize peace in the region," Turković said during the conversation.
