Bihać Tourist Board presented four projects in the medieval town of Sokolac

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Tourist Board of the City of Bihać, on the occasion of marking World Tourism Day, today presented four new infrastructural projects in the town of Sokolac, the realization of which will bring Sokolac a step closer to opening its doors to visitors and becoming one of the new tourist brands of the city on the Una.

The projects were presented to the present media by representatives of the Rotary Club Bihać Mirsad Bašić and Almir Kurtović, Adnan Mekić - President of the Una Tourist Cluster, and Armin Amidžić - Acting Director of the Bihać Tourist Board.

These are projects being realized in cooperation with several donors, such as the project of bringing an electricity connection to Sokolac Tower in cooperation with the City Administration of Bihać, which is a prerequisite for many other projects whose realization depends precisely on the existence of the power grid, then the improvement of infrastructure on the existing Debeljača trim trail, which is being realized with the Rotary Club Bihać, and within which this trail will receive a new resting area with exercise equipment, as well as two love seats with a view of the city of Bihać.

The Tourist Board is using its own funds to launch the project of installing lighting poles from the Sokolac settlement all the way to the Tower, with plans to install solar lamps in order to further promote ecological awareness in our destination.

The fourth and most important project presented today is the project of building a medieval stage, which, together with the Bihać Tourist Board, is supported by the Market Makers development project, financed by the Government of Switzerland, and which will open this town for performances and various entertainment content, and make it available to all associations, groups, and individuals who will be able to present their works and ideas at this location, thus breathing completely new life into it.

"Upon completion of these projects, we will present a new brand to the public, which we have named 'SOKA cultural scene', and with which this medieval town will present itself on the tourist market in the future. This is the next step towards reviving our cultural and historical monument. More than a thousand years of history, myths, and legends will get a summer stage on which a new cultural, artistic, and entertainment future of the tourist offer of the city of Bihać will be written," said the acting director of the Tourist Board of the City of Bihać, Armin Amidžić.
