Tourists in the City Hall delighted with the original part of the building

The renovated Sarajevo City Hall has been constantly full since it opened its doors to all citizens and tourists as part of the Open Doors Day, writes the Patria news agency. It was the same today.

Full of tourists and a few locals, the City Hall was once again the center of events in the capital this Sunday, with tourist guides bringing groups for organized visits.

Tourists viewed the exhibition titled „Sarajevo City Hall Once Again“ with great interest, and listened with particular attention to the guides' lectures about its burning during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Tomas Ker, a German tourist, said he came to Sarajevo solely because of the City Hall, as when he heard it had been renovated, he had to see it in person.

- I could watch this perfection for hours. Everything is so masterfully done that it takes your breath away. And it all gains significance when you know it is handmade. Although almost everything in the City Hall is new, at the same time it exudes history. This is the result of great effort invested in its restoration, where attention was paid to every detail – said Ker.

Besides the exhibition, beautiful walls, and the dome, tourists most often stop at the original parts of the former building. Incidentally, each room of the City Hall incorporates an original piece that survived the fire 22 years ago.

Thus, in the hall of the City Hall, there is an authentic piece of stone in the floor around which the new floor was poured, and many visitors bent down to touch the original part.
