Turks claim: We warned France twice about Paris bomber, but they ignored us

Turkey warned France twice in the past year about one of the jihadists who blew himself up on Friday evening in Paris, but claims it received no response, a Turkish government official said, reports the Patria News Agency.

Turkish police warned French police on two occasions, in December 2014 and June 2015, about Omar Ismail Mostefai, one of the attackers at the Parisian concert hall Bataclan, said the official, who wished to remain anonymous.

"We never received any feedback from France on this matter," he said.

In October 2014, Turkey received a request for information from France regarding four alleged jihadists, among whom was not the suicide bomber from Paris. However, Turkey investigated him because he was linked to a group that interested French services, he said.

Born in a Parisian suburb, Mostefai participated in the attack on Bataclan, where he detonated explosives. He was identified by fingerprint.

Paris prosecutor Francis Molins said he had been convicted several times for criminal offenses and registered for Islamist radicalization since 2010, but had never been involved in a terrorist act.

The Turkish official said that French authorities contacted them regarding this Islamist only after the attacks in Paris on Friday.
