Turčalo for NAP: Future steps are key to the effects of the Srebrenica Resolution

(Patria) - Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo Sead Turčalo commented for the Patria News Agency on the adoption of the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica at the session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Turčalo says that the analysis of the vote on the resolution would be based on the structure of the countries that were for and against, taking into account their military, political, economic, and soft power measured by all relevant indices.

He assesses that future steps are key regarding the Srebrenica Resolution, adding that it would be concerning if the Resolution had received the support of two-thirds of the UN member states, but did not receive the support of key countries in the transatlantic area.

- Although some may disagree, I believe that the geopolitical and geo-economic power and geographical location of the countries that supported the Resolution are more important than the mere fact that 19 countries voted against and 68 abstained - emphasizes Turčalo.
