At the Sarajevo Municipal Court yesterday, the trial in the case "Energopetrol" began, in which the accused are charged with causing damage exceeding 32 million KM to the company Energopetrol and the Federation of BiH, because, according to the indictment, in the capital increase process with the INA/MOL consortium, they signed contracts detrimental to this company, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
The indictment was filed against former Prime Minister Nedžad Branković, former director of Energopetrol Namik Bušatlić, as well as Kasema Ćatović, lawyer Ahmed Žilić, Mirko Puljić, Sead Kreso, Safet Proha, Anka Šešlija and Alma Haseta, who at the time of the capital increase were members of the Commission for the Capital Increase of Energopetrol.
Mirnes Turbo, director of the company General Servis, which after the FBiH Government is the largest minority shareholder of shares in Energopetrol and a representative of small shareholders of Energopetrol, told Patria that in the entire affair surrounding this company, the greatest and direct damage was suffered by small shareholders, because they are the only ones who lost their own money invested in Energopetrol shares.
In his opinion, the best solution for this case would be to annul the capital increase and seek a new buyer who would enable the small shareholders who invested in this company to get their money back.
Turbo recalls that before the capital increase of Energopetrol by the INA/MOL consortium, shares ranged between 45 and 65 KM, while now they reach a price of barely seven KM.
- It is clear that someone is responsible for this state of affairs in the company. Someone must be guilty because Energopetrol's debts at this moment are around 80 million marks, meaning the company's total debts exceed its total capital – says Turbo.
