Tunnel "1. mart" one of the most modern in the region

The completion of the second phase of works on one of the largest structures on Corridor 5C, the Vijenac tunnel on the Gorica-Bilješevo sub-section, on the road from Sarajevo to Zenica, will be ceremonially presented to the public of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, on Independence Day. The ceremony will be attended by the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Nermin Nikšić, the Director of the Public Enterprise Autoceste FBiH Ensad Karić, and on behalf of the BiH consortium that carried out the works, Hamed Ramić. Members of the Presidency of BiH have also been invited to the ceremony.

- The Public Enterprise Autoceste of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is completing another very significant and demanding project on Corridor Vc – the "1. mart" tunnel on the Gorica – Bilješevo sub-section. The "1. mart" tunnel (Vijenac), almost three kilometers long, is one of the longest tunnels in Bosnia and Herzegovina and will be one of the most modern and best-equipped in the region. The engagement in its construction was entrusted to BiH companies: Euroasfalt d.o.o. Sarajevo and ŽGP d.d. Sarajevo – it was announced from this state company.

As they emphasize, the construction of the "1. mart" tunnel, as well as the construction of the highway on Corridor 5c, has multiple significances for the Bosnian-Herzegovinian society and our country.

- Domestic companies have shown their construction capabilities and gained the necessary references for further work, not only in our country but also in the region. The construction of the highway has employed over five thousand workers, which has special significance in the difficult economic situation for our country – they state in the announcement of this event.
