Tuka advances to semifinals of World Championships in Doha

DOHA, (Patria) - At the World Championships in Doha, Bosnia's best athlete Amel Tuka finished the 800-meter race today with a time of 1:45.62, thus advancing to the semifinals of the World Championships.

The excellent Bosnian athlete finished the race with the same time as American Clayton Murphy, who came in second. The group winner was Briton Elliot Giles with a time of 1:45.53.

Fourth was Spaniard Alvaro de Arriba, who with a time of 1:45.67 might also possibly "slip into" the final, but Tuka, Murphy and Giles secured their advancement.

Tomorrow in the semifinals, the top three from each of the six qualification groups and the six best by time will compete. The semifinal is scheduled for 20:55 local time.
