Tuka Achieves Top Result at Season's Start

(Patria) - Amel Tuka, our best athlete, ran his first race of the season yesterday in Padua at an athletics meeting, and what a race it was. Tuka, namely, ran the 400-meter race in 47.29 seconds, which is a top result at the opening of the new season.

For comparison, Tuka's personal best in the 400 meters is 47.14 seconds, and with this time, he also met the 400-meter standard for the indoor European Championships, which will be held this year. The standard was 47.40 seconds, and Tuka ran 47.29 seconds without any issues. However, despite achieving the standard, Amel will not participate in this discipline at the European Championships, given that the 800-meter races are his priority and he wants to confirm his quality this year, and the 47.29 seconds certainly boosts his confidence for the rest of the year.

- I really didn't expect such a result. I am also surprised, especially since I had strenuous and difficult preparations in Portugal behind me. My coach and I are satisfied with the time run, which gives us encouragement to work even better and harder to achieve all the set goals for this season, which will be very long, said Amel Tuka, who will participate in the 800-meter discipline at an indoor athletics meeting in France on February 2nd.
