Amel Tuka, our best athlete, early this morning (Central European Time) did not qualify for the final 800-meter race at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, reports the news agency Patria. He finished fourth in the second semifinal race with a time of 1:45:24.

Our best athlete's opponents in the second qualifying race were Andreas Bube (Denmark), Rynardt van Rensburg (South Africa), Alfred Kipketer (Kenya), Boris Berian (USA), Brandon McBride (Canada), Mohammed Aman (Ethiopia), and Yassine Hethat (Algeria).
