Faced with a serious obstacle in the form of Milorad Dodik, the excavator whose driver is the Sarajevo Troika is moving uncontrollably in reverse and threatens to jeopardize the functioning of the entity of the Federation of BiH.
Nervous and in panic, the Sarajevo tricolors in partnership with the reformed European Milorad Dodik have shackled Bosnia and Herzegovina with yet another severe political crisis. Today, therefore, we can say with certainty that the worst crises are guaranteed when alliances produced by the international community and connected by the SDP are in power.
Yesterday's sessions of the Parliament of the Federation, more precisely its House of Representatives, showed that the excavator is pushing the entire system vertically into an abyss from which we will again be pulling ourselves out for years, while the opposition members from the SDP, NiP and NS will lecture us on how they know better and how it should be done.
The suicidal political experiment of Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić to maintain a level of condescension by apologizing to Dragan Čović failed, because the HDZ only recognizes that level of condescension at which Nikšić and his brothers from the Troika will act against the interests of the USA and Bosnia and Herzegovina or anyone else, for the account of Čović and company.
And in that bush lies the whole essence of yesterday's parliamentary circus. Because, part of the parliamentary majority made up of the Troika parties reinforced by NES would have decided to be against BiH's interests in the Southern Interconnection, but they did not dare to be against the interests of the USA. In those interests, reinforced by the opposition from SDA and DF, they outvoted the HDZ and adopted the composition of the Commission for expert assessment for issuing urban planning consent for the Southern Interconnection project.
The problem then arose at the regular session, because the parliamentary majority "cracked" due to the anger of the HDZ and the session ended before it even began. The agenda fell.
And then the megaphones and little megaphones of the HDZ's partners tried to shift the blame for the failure of the regular session onto the opposition, forgetting that only a few hours earlier, that same opposition had saved them from a conflict with American interests.
The headlines of portals echoed with the sobs of Damir Mašić (SDP), Sandi Salkić (NES) and the Chairman of the House of Representatives Dragan Mioković (NS). The first two directly accused the opposition SDA of not giving them a hand so they could play the role of government and act as experts. The third called out everyone, but was unable to look around and seek the culprits around him.
Some reproached me when I called the Troika project Murphy's kindergarten, and they were right — I apologize to the children in kindergarten, they are more serious in their play than this political kindergarten.
Because, who serious would dare to blame the party that the tricolors unanimously said "never with them" for the failure of the session. Who would deal with the actions of the opposition after agreeing that through one-time amendments to the Constitution, the politically stronger part of the parliament goes into opposition, and the weaker into power. Who politically serious needs to be "rescued" by the opposition led by the party that gave rise to the catchphrase "let it not be the SDA, even if it's worse".
It was worse, and optimistic forecasts predict the worst is yet to come. Because even without special analysis, it is easy to determine that the mechanism that governs the Federation of BiH today is composed of interest satellites that act on the orders of their external and internal patrons, and not according to the will of the people who elected them.
In that math, it is clear that every decision is made with a fig in the pocket — either for the account of Dragan Čović, or Milorad Dodik, or to satisfy the ambassador's priority tables. Citizens are just a backdrop for press conferences and viral statuses on social networks.
Paradoxically, the opposition that they were loudly throwing out of power is now patching their holes and saving their face before foreign embassies. The SDA and DF, against whom they were waving the cliché about "changes" at the top of their voices, are today the only factor of political stability in a country that the Troika, with its adventurism and Dodikophilia, has thrown into institutional collapse.
When the political elite comes to a situation where it reproaches the opposition for not saving them from their own incompetence and for not giving them a hand to jointly play experts, then it is clear that we do not have a government — but an improvised cabaret of a group of people whose political duration is measured solely by someone else's interest, not the will of the voters.
If anyone had any doubts, yesterday's parliamentary chaos confirmed: the Troika project is not any reformist step forward, but an experiment of the international community on a suffering people. An experiment in which the guinea pigs are the citizens, and the laboratory technicians are Schmidt, Murphy, Sarrazin and others.
The Federation of BiH today functions as an improvised construction site without a chief engineer — with excavators driving in reverse, with incompetent shift supervisors squabbling over who will be the head of the canteen, and with workers just waiting for the moment to drop everything and flee headlong.
And the price of that experiment will be new debts, new concessions, new national subjugations and new legal solutions tailored in cabinets that no one in this country elected. And that is why — the worst crises are yet to come.
And all those who believed that the Troika would lead them forward will, unfortunately, soon realize that they were just extras in yet another political reverse. And without the possibility of jumping out of the cabin before they drive us all straight into the wall!
