Trojka: Conducting responsible policy does not win political points, but brings great social good

(Patria) - The Trojka parties have reacted to the statement by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen that the EU will give Bosnia and Herzegovina the green light to open accession negotiations, and that BiH has made more progress on its EU path in the past year than in the previous 10 years.

"We welcome the announcement of opening negotiations with the EU. This was one of our biggest pre-election promises to citizens and one of the greatest political goals we planned to achieve.

The announced opening of accession negotiations would undoubtedly reflect on the quality of life of our citizens, and that quality will grow as we further align BiH standards with European ones, all the way to full membership.

Also, it is very important that opening accession negotiations would further expand European, Western influence in BiH, and the possibilities of other global-political influences would be reduced to a minimum.

We are particularly pleased with the fact that the EU has recognized our efforts over the past year, and on that occasion we want to say that the only qualitative shift in the structure of government compared to the previous one is precisely the Trojka parties.

The BiH political scene lacked a side open to negotiations, a side that knew what could and could not be agreed upon, and wisely set aside intractable problems until their time came.

We, the Trojka parties, were that side. We knew well that only with the opening of accession negotiations could some other very important topics, on which there was no consensus so far, be opened.

Our approach of patiently conducting responsible policy exposed us to lies and accusations from so-called patriots without a leg to stand on, but all that is a small sacrifice for the great good we have achieved.

We continue further, this is the most important step so far on our path to the EU, but not the most important in the entire accession process. We immediately continue further, towards the soonest possible membership in the society of the most advanced," states the press release delivered to the media by the People and Justice party.
