Trojka: Everyone advocating for weakening of the OHR plays into Putin's plans

(Patria) - In light of recent developments, Trojka expresses full support for the work of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a fundamental institution of the Dayton Agreement and the most significant formal social authority and corrective, it was announced from SDP, NIP, and Naša stranka.

"Everyone advocating for the weakening of the OHR plays into the plans of Putin and his satellites in power in Serbia and the RS entity. That is why it is particularly surprising if such positions are advocated by EU member states that declaratively oppose the aggression against Ukraine and Putin's regime.

It is indicative that such information comes at a time when the unconstitutional so-called return of competencies to the entities is announced, in which cases the OHR must react. We note that thanks to the decision of the High Representative, the most significant step in the democratization of the electoral process since the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been made.

Although we regret that the amendments to the Election Law of BiH were not adopted as a result of an internal agreement, this does not diminish the significance and necessity of the amendments that have entered into force. The OHR is part of the legal order of this country precisely as an institution whose role is to take steps towards establishing a democratic society when it is prevented through domestic institutions by the destructive actions of certain structures of the internal order. With the amendments to the Election Law of BiH, integrity and faith in the institution of fair elections, the results of which must be a reflection of the true will of the voters, have been restored, which is the basic principle of democracy.

We note that in the past year, a significant number of internal reforms have been made that have been agreed upon and that represent greater progress for the country than in the past ten years of the previous government, as recognized by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

In this regard, we call on partners at the state level to urgently adopt the state budget, as a key prerequisite for accessing the financial pool of 1 billion KM in access funds. There are no obstacles to adopting the budget, and all other open issues of fund distribution can be subject to agreement in accordance with the law and according to precisely defined methodological principles. One of the prerequisites for this is the stabilization of institutions and the completion of the process of appointing judges to the Constitutional Court of BiH.

Furthermore, it is crucial for the entities to focus on mutual cooperation and support for the state on the path to the EU, which is their constitutional obligation, which implies the cessation of all anti-Dayton, separatist initiatives.

We call on all actors of the international order, especially the EU, the USA, and Great Britain, traditional partners and friends of BiH, to publicly articulate messages of unequivocal support for the OHR. In the current circumstances, it is crucial that they precisely identify and recognize all those who contribute to the country's EU path, as well as those who slow down and prevent the further development of the country and destabilize the situation in the country and the region," it was announced.
