Trojka with a Triple: 2022 Elections Undisputed, Ensure Fair Elections Without Theft

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Representatives of Trojka (Our Party, NIP, and SDP BiH) and the opposition from Republika Srpska met in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. The meeting was attended by Edin Forto, Sabina Ćudić, and Predrag Kojović on behalf of Our Party, Nermin Nikšić and Denis Bećirović on behalf of SDP BiH, Elmedin Konaković on behalf of People and Justice, Mirko Šarović on behalf of SDS, Branislav Borenović on behalf of PDP, and Aleksandar Glavaš on behalf of DNS.

They emphasized that the holding of the 2022 elections is undisputed and that they will jointly insist on transparent and fair elections. They assessed the threats of the ruling parties about not holding elections as unacceptable. They called on all relevant domestic and international institutions to provide technological support for holding elections that will prevent electoral theft.

Representatives of the six opposition parties said that they are jointly oriented towards the country's future with a focus on economic progress and development, and an uncompromising fight against corruption at the BiH level, as well as in Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH. They have begun discussions on the 14 priorities that BiH must fulfill to obtain candidate status, and emphasized their readiness to accelerate BiH's European path.

They particularly emphasized that BiH has only two options: conflict offered by the ruling coalition SNSD, SDA, HDZ, or cooperation and mutual respect while respecting the existing constitutional framework of BiH, and the participants of the talks are firmly committed to peace, stability, and the future.

"For us, talks have no alternative," they stated.
