Trojka without a majority, SDA will support once collective agreement with healthcare workers is signed

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – Out of 35 delegates in the KS Assembly, only 23 were present at today's session. 14 delegates from SDP BiH, NIP, and Our Party who attended the session, as well as several independent delegates, voted for the agenda. SDA abstained, as did delegates from DF and SBiH.

The number of votes did not increase even after individual voting, and four delegates from the Trojka were absent from the session, while Vildana Bešlija was late for the session and missed the vote on the agenda.

SBB delegate Zvonko Marić also voted for the agenda, but he himself was surprised that the government did not have a secured majority to adopt the agenda today.

“As a member of the opposition, the head of the SBB Club, I thought I would support the efforts to adopt the financial plan of the Health Insurance Fund because it is very important, and I don't know why we waited so long for it to happen. I had objections and would seek answers. My vote, which I gave for today's agenda, was not enough because there were delegates from the majority who did not show up,” said Marić.

Elmedin Konaković, president of NIP, attacked the opposition, accusing them of rejecting the agenda, which included the Financial Plan of the KS Health Insurance Fund for 2022 and the Decision on the Execution of the Financial Plan of the Sarajevo Canton Health Insurance Fund for 2022;

Jasmina Biščević Tokić from SDA responded to him.

“We did not support it precisely because healthcare workers do not have a signed collective agreement, and the financial plan of the KS Health Insurance Fund does not provide for an increase in either hourly rates or coefficients. We will not support it until the collective agreement is signed and the hourly rate is increased,” said Biščević-Tokić.

Although it is entirely irrelevant whether the Trojka delegates were absent with or without justification, it is hypocritical to demand and accuse the opposition of rejecting the agenda.

There were several instances where delegates from SBB assisted the weakened Trojka in voting on certain decisions. But that was not the case today, and the sole responsibility lies with the ruling majority, which clearly failed today.
