Three candidates for reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At today's regular session of the current convocation of the Islamic Community Assembly in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the list of candidates for reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who will be elected on October 12, was determined.

The Assembly determined that the Constitution of the Islamic Community in Serbia is aligned with the Constitution of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and gave its consent for its implementation. The Assembly also confirmed the decision of the reisu-l-ulema on the appointment of two muftis whose terms had expired. Thus, for a new five-year term as mufti in the area of the Meshihat of the Islamic Community in Croatia, Dr. Aziz Hasanović was appointed, and for the area of the Meshihat of the Islamic Community in Serbia, Dr. Mevlud Dudić.

Based on the report prepared by the Election Commission, the Assembly, after Mr. Husejin ef. Smajić withdrew his candidacy, determined the list of candidates for reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which includes: Salem ef. Dedović, Husein ef. Kavazović, Muamer ef. Zukorlić. After that, the candidates presented their work programs for the reisu-l-ulema's term from 2019 to 2026 to the attending assembly members.

The Chairman of the Election Commission, Safet Softić, determined that the electoral body that will elect the reisu-l-ulema will convene on October 12, 2019, in Sarajevo, and until then, the candidates will have the opportunity to present their program to the members of the electoral body for the election of the reisu-l-ulema.
