Trhulj: FBiH produces surplus energy

Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Erdal Trhulj met today at the seat of the FBiH Government with the Director of "Elektroprenos" and the system operator of the Republic of Slovenia (ELES) Aleksander Mervar. The topic of the conversation was the development of the power sector in our country and Slovenia, reports the Patria News Agency.

Trhulj informed the guest from Slovenia about the state of this sector in the Federation of BiH, as well as the installed capacity of thermal and hydroelectric power generation facilities that both entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina have.

- The Federation of BiH currently, as for many years prior, produces a surplus of energy - emphasized Trhulj, adding that, in addition, there is still much available potential that can be utilized by building thermal and hydroelectric power plants, for some of which pilot projects are already in preparation.

Mervar took this opportunity to point out Slovenia's experiences in the process of developing its power sector. Highlighting the positive ones, Mervar also pointed out possible problems that the Federation of BiH should avoid in the process of opening its market.
