Third International Dives at Bentbaša on August 19

Organized by the Association for the Promotion of Sports and Tourism „SporTur“ from Sarajevo, the „International Dives Sarajevo Bentbaša 2017“ will be held for the third time. This sports and tourism event will take place on Saturday, August 19, starting at 4 PM, reports the Patria agency.

From year to year, this event is growing into an increasingly significant sports and tourism event. The most successful divers from Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina have announced their participation, and they will once again test their skills in diving at Bentbaša.

This year, some innovations are being prepared compared to previous competitions, which will contribute to making this year's event even more attractive to visitors. Last year, the dives were performed from an improvised platform 16 meters high, and the idea is to set up a modular platform at a greater height this year, thus raising the competition to a higher level. The diving platform at Bentbaša will, after the Old Bridge in Mostar, be the second highest diving platform in BiH and the region.

The organizer of the event, Dino Bajrić, a long-time diver and winner of the last dives in Jajce, stated that it is necessary to set up a platform on the rock next to the dam at Bentbaša from which the dives would be performed, and it is essential to deepen the Miljacka riverbed for the safety of the competitors.

- Given that the event will be held for the third time, and that the date of the event is in the middle of the summer tourist season, we believe that the dives at Bentbaša will attract even greater attention from many media outlets, citizens of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and guests staying in the capital city this year - said Bajrić.

The patrons of the event are the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, Admiral electronic casino, and partners Municipality of Stari Grad, Sarajevski kiseljak, Sarajevska pivara, Elit nutricion, and the Federal Civil Protection Administration.
